  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 1 stick + 3 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and flour an 8.5×4.5 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together egg yolks, whole egg, heavy cream, and vanilla.
  3. In a stand mixer, sift flour, baking powder, salt, and mix in sugar until combined.
  4. Add softened butter and half of the egg mixture; beat on medium-low speed for about 3 minutes.
  5. Increase speed to medium-high for another 3 minutes until thick; add remaining egg mixture and mix gently.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan; bake for 35-45 minutes until set.
  7. Prepare honey syrup by mixing honey with warm water; brush over the cake immediately after baking.
  8. Cool in the pan for about 20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
